Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation. Last Friday, August 19th, Miss Nordstrom and her 2nd Grade class took to the blacktop for a math review activity. What a fun way to review math by enjoying the beautiful weather, exploring the Rockdale School property, and working on math fluency and fact practice all at the same time. This is to serve as a reminder of our first Rockdale PTO meeting of the 22-23 being held in person, along with a Google Meet option if you are unable to make it in person, in the Rockdale cafeteria on Tuesday, August 23rd at 3:45 pm. The focus of our first meeting will be to discuss our upcoming PTO Movie Night on September 16th, the first 2-3 months of Restaurant Fundraisers, and to tentatively plan the PTO Fall Fun Night in October. Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation! Today was a busy day at Rockdale School! Our students rotated between three parts of the building to learn about expected behaviors and how to show their Rockdale PRIDE throughout the school. Tomorrow, Friday, August 19th, our Rams will finish the final three rotations as part of our PBIS Kickoff 2022 event. It started yesterday with an all school assembly to learn about Rockdale PRIDE and what it means when you see or say #VIBECHECK! PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports which focuses on creating learning environments that support positive behavior and social interactions. A special thank you to Ms. Willis, Ms. Kirk, Mrs. Lorenc, Mrs. Vallera, Mr. Whalen, Ms. Mahoney, Ms. Walls, Mrs. Kelch, Mr. Mooney for facilitating speaking to our Rams in those various parts of the building! This has been a RAMtastic start to the 22-23 school year! ¡Buenas noches, nación Rockdale Ram! ¡Hoy fue un día ocupado en la Escuela Rockdale! I am beyond excited to announce that we are celebrating TWO (2) WINS tonight, one for our Lady Rams Softball team who played an away game against Laraway and won 17-10, while our Boys Baseball team also played an away game against Laraway and dominated 12-1!! We will #flytheW flag in the front hallway opposite of the main office and the Rockdale Ram Victory light is lit on the west side of the building!! Good afternoon Rockdale Ram Nation. This is to serve as a reminder for Arrival and Dismissal procedures for the 22-23 school year starting today, Wednesday, August 17th via Teacherease. As a reminder, ARRIVAL and parent drop-off is in the front of the building and doors open at 8:20 am and students should be behind the pillars. Students will not be allowed into the building prior to 8:20 am. Parents should remain in their car and a Rockdale staff member will assist students out of the car. DISMISSAL is changed due to student safety. Please read the attached document. Thanks for your time and consideration. Good morning Rockdale Ram Nation! I am pleased to officially open up the Rockdale Students and Family Spirit Store from today, Monday, August 15 and closes on Friday, August 26 at 4 pm. The online spirit store closes so production can begin and we will reopen it in November. Please use the link below to browse the online spirit store. We have child and adult sizes to choose from for almost every piece of Ram gear! https://chasingteesink.com/collections/rockdale-school A few key important details to remember: -This is an online store and payments must be made through various payment methods online. Rockdale School will not accept cash or check and place an order on your behalf. -Shipping is free, but will remain in your cart until check out. -Sizes run true to size, but nothing is 100% guarantee. Good morning Rockdale Ram Nation. This is to serve as a notice that starting on Monday, August 15th until 4 pm on Friday, August 26, we will have an online STUDENT Rockdale Spirit Store! We are excited to be partnering with Ms. Nurczyk from Chasing T’s Inkooperated to offer this to our Rockdale Rams as we look to continue will Spirit Day Fridays! We have worked with Ms. Nurczyk for the past three years as she is the creative genius behind our “Class of” yard signs for our graduating 8th Graders! I will be sending out the link via Teacherease Monday morning as the store will officially be open. Be on the lookout for this tremendous opportunity! The spirit store will open up again in early November and again in the spring if you are unable to purchase any items at this time. Please be aware that many schools who offer Spirit stores upcharge so they use it as a fundraiser. Not Rockdale School. I wanted to keep the items as low as possible so it was more affordable to you, our parents, but also providing quality updated Rockdale Ram gear to proudly wear on Fridays! A few key pieces of information regarding the online store: -The Spirit Store is online only and must be completed through various means of electronic payments. Rockdale School will not accept cash or check payments or place orders on behalf of parents. -Please be aware when ordering sizes that some pieces may run small. -The store will be open for 2 weeks, then closed for a 2 week production time. Production does not begin the first day the store opens. Please be patient with the timing in receiving your order. When it arrives, I will send a notice out via Teacherease. So far, I have been very pleased with the turnaround time for the pieces we have ordered as a school. There could be some delays due to supply chain issues, availability of some product, etc. You WILL receive the items you have purchased. -You will see, prior to checkout, shipping fee, but complete the order because Ms. Nurczyk has graciously agreed to waive that fee at the end of the online sale. Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation! What a great day it was today at Rockdale Stadium today as our Rockdale Boys Baseball team played their first game of the season. Our Rams put up a valiant fight, but lost 13-7 to Jane Addams. We had our ceremonial first pitch of the season by our very own Dr. Merritt, Rockdale Superintendent!
