In addition, Friday, April 7th due to Good Friday, and Monday, April 10th due to Easter Monday, there is NO SCHOOL for students and staff and the building will be closed. School will resume back on Tuesday, April 11th and it will be a full day of student attendance.

This is to serve as notice regarding the annual Easter Egg Hunt held at CB Diamond, corner of Meadow and Brandon Road. The event will be held on Saturday, April 8th promptly at 10 am and is for Rockdale residents ONLY, toddlers, Kindergarten thru 4th Graders. Yes, EB, Easter Bunny, will be making an appearance at the event.
This is a rain or shine event. Should it rain on Saturday, April 8th, the Hunt will be held at Village Hall, corner of Moen and Ferris.
Rockdale School will be distributing the fliers to our Rockdale Kindergarten thru 4th Grade students on Wednesday, April 5th, after Spring Break. I have attached the flier to this notice so you are in the loop.
A special thank you to the Village of Rockdale for sponsoring the event, to Mayor and Mrs. Wyke for coordinating the event, and for the generous donations made by Mr. Masoud from J and M Food Mart.

Esto es para servir como aviso sobre la búsqueda anual de huevos de Pascua que se lleva a cabo en CB Diamond, esquina de Meadow y Brandon Road. El evento se llevará a cabo el sábado 8 de abril puntualmente a las 10 am y es SOLO para los residentes de Rockdale, niños pequeños y estudiantes de jardín de infantes a cuarto grado. Sí, EB, Easter Bunny, aparecerá en el evento.

So proud of our Rockdale Rams staff who wore their brightly colored, mismatched socks, etc. in honor and support of World Down Syndrome Day which is celebrated annually on March 21st. March 21st is symbolic because people with Down Syndrome have three (3) copies of their 21st chromosome.
I would say that our Rockdale staff did “ROCK their socks 2023” yesterday! Awesome job and thank you for your support of this special day!

We had the Rockdale School gym packed with our Rockdale Rams and grownups this morning, Friday, March 10, for our PTO Donuts with Grownups event.
A special thank you to our phenomenal Rockdale PTO for sponsoring, hard work in organizing and setting up the event, Home Cut Donuts ( #homecutdonuts ) for their generous donation of ten dozen donuts for the event, to our dedicated Rockdale Police and Fire Department for mingling with our parents, students, and staff, and to our amazing Rockdale staff for assisting with set up, tear down, and mingling with our Rockdale Rams and grownups.

On Friday, December 2nd, our Rockdale 6th Graders attended a field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago under the supervision of Mr. Olson, Ms. Kirk, and Ms. Walls.
Students had a great time. This was a tremendous opportunity for our Rams.

Good afternoon Rockdale Ram Nation.
Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade Teachers organized a “Friendsgiving” for our Kindergarten and First Grade students this past Monday, November 21st! A special shoutout out to our amazing Kindergarten (Mrs. Sommers & Mrs. Campbell) and 1st Grade (Mrs. Blenck, Mrs. Chojnicki & Mrs. Olino) teachers for their hard work in bringing this event back for our students.
Students transitioned from class to class in small groups of mixed grade levels and had fun making turkey hats to wear at the feast, decorating their placemats, played a learning game where they pulled a turkey out of a hat and had to make that letter sound, had a turkey scavenger hunt, and much more!
After students ate their lunch, the day concluded with all of our Kindergarten and 1st Grade students sitting down together for a “Friendsgiving” feast that consisted of pretzels, cheerios, and juice. Students did a great job and seemed to enjoy this event.

¡Nuestros maestros de jardín de infantes y primer grado organizaron un "Día de Acción de Gracias" para nuestros estudiantes de jardín de infantes y primer grado el pasado lunes 21 de noviembre! Un agradecimiento especial a nuestros increíbles maestros de jardín de infantes (Sra. Sommers y Sra. Campbell) y 1er grado (Sra. Blenck, Sra. Chojnicki y Sra. Olino) por su arduo trabajo para traer este evento de regreso para nuestros estudiantes.
Los estudiantes hicieron la transición de una clase a otra en pequeños grupos de grados mixtos y se divirtieron haciendo sombreros de pavo para usar en la fiesta, jugaron un juego de aprendizaje en el que sacaron un pavo de un sombrero y tuvieron que hacer el sonido de esa letra, tenían un carroñero de pavo ¡caza y mucho más!
Después de que los estudiantes almorzaron, el día concluyó con todos nuestros estudiantes de jardín de infantes y primer grado sentados juntos para una fiesta de "Día de los amigos" que consistió en pretzels, Cheerios y jugo. Los estudiantes hicieron un gran trabajo y parecieron disfrutar este evento.
