Our 8th graders teamed up to help some of our 2nd grade student learn about the effects of weathering and erosion. In their "Save the City" lab, teams built Lego cities and then designed a plan to protect their cities from water erosion. Teams built their protection barriers and then tested to see if their designs saved their city. We love seeing the collaborative efforts of our teachers bringing meaningful learning experiences to all of our students!

First Grade continued their study on sound and vibration with the help of Mrs. Kelch and some of our band students! The band students played theory instruments by a glass bowl that had saran wrap and salt. The vibrations from the instruments made the salt "dance". Again, this is to show how sound waves make vibrations, and vibrations make things move!

On Tuesday, January 30th, teachers and students celebrated our 100th Day of School! There was lots of fun to be had as students counted objects, wrote about themselves at 100 years old, and hunted for 100 Rams throughout the building. We can't wait to see what we learn in the remaining days of the 2023-24 school year!

Our first grade students have been studying a unit on sound. They've discussed sound waves and how those waves spread through a room as sound is made. Today, Mr. Olson and a group of 8th grade students helped the first grade classes conduct an experiment to create a visual of those sound waves-they loved it! Shout out to Mrs. Blenck, Mrs. Olino, Mr. Olson, and Ms. Rande for collaborating on this awesome learning experience for students! If you're a parent of a first grade student, be sure to ask them what they learned in science class today!
